In the Shadows

Eldest step daughter Melinda who we have not seen for 4 years, arrived out of the blue with the new man in her life. While out showing them around set up the camera while they were talking and joking with each other, and took some shots, these are not posed for, being natural and candid in their actions.

I didn't see this as being posed at all - I thought it a wonderfully warm moment captured. It's very apparent she's quite taken with the gentleman! Beautiful light - very well processed to bring out the essence of the shot.

Hi Brian! That is a nice moment you captured! The connection between those 2 pours out of this photo. How nice to see your step-daughter after 4 whole years! They look so happy!

With the woman so much lower than the man this photo seems unbalanced to me..

From the thumbnail, I thought he had on a batman costume. :) I like the diagonal set up between the two people.

Great counterbalance between the heights of the two subjects and the expression in her eyes speaks volumes of the way she feels about him

the size differance feels rather unnatural, if she is sitting then perhaps we need to see that. If he really is that tall then perhaps he could kneel :) I like the dappled light

Candid, but not too interesting. Nice tones for a b/w though I wish the two shirts didn't blend together so much.

great composition and it fits the challenge, would like to have seen the mans shirt with a little less N/Image

doesn't feel like a candid. I feel like I've already been allowed in. oh, but maybe that's a good thing. and I do like the shadows.

Tones need some work...but good angle.
