This guy was slowly edging his way around the shallows of the Swan River in Perth. While out and about looking for a Candid entry, I saw him out there all alone, with not a care in the world. I actually turned to my wife and pointed him out, thinking to myself, PURE Serenity. SNAP, there was my PURE entry.
About the conditions and the shot. Focal length was 300mm using CP filter attached to the front of the lens. Sun was high but just behind me (1PM) with little to no clouds. Water reflections were dampened using the CP Filter. I chose to convert this to BW as it gave the shot some more impact IMO.
Processing:
Crop, Resize, Gradiant Layer, Contrast/Brightness Layer, Noise removal. |

| Beautiful tones. I do think that moment of "pure serenity" might have been there but what you captured doesn't show that for me. He looks distracted and the houses in the background don't help the situation. |

| A day on the lake is always nice. This is a nice looking shot. Good tones. What would be really nice, is if you could just capture him and the water with no houses in the background. |
