I quite like the blue tint on this. Also think you did an outstanding job in foggy conditions. Yep, very appealing and atmospheric. |

fyi 7.... early morning fisherman - a excellent subject & good presentation.
A very good, near perfect transition image..... minimal edit as specified by a basic challenge can sometimes impose graphic limitations. More aggressive use of contrast may have contributed more impact. |

It's a lovely shot, and if I'd voted in this challenge, I would have probably given it a 7. If the guy's face were clearer, it would have been an 8 or 9. As to why it didn't score better overall...the one time I entered a foggy photo, I got the comment, "where are the white and black colors in this capture... So few colors on the scale of 256.." DPC rewards images that are more simple and obvious than this one is. |

I liked this image a lot, Jack, and gave it a 7. I agree that if the person's face were clearer, showing him emerging from the fog, this image would have scored even higher. Very nice subject, composition and processing. |

Its really good overall and you nearly got a 6 which is pretty darned good. I would have straightened it abit. Granted, the boat was probably tilted in the water but the perception is that its slightly tilted.
The border could have been removed. The main function of a border is basically to contain the image visually. This shot doesn't need it.
That aside, the blue monochrome works really well with it. It definitely has atmosphere and visual appeal. |

Sinister and dramatic, foggy but the detail is still crisp. The conversion fits the shot exactly and increases the atmosphere. I didn't vote this challenge, but would have scored it a well deserved 9. |
