 There was this lovely young woman laughing at the beach boardwalk today as her ice cream melted too fast for her to keep up with and when I went to take her photo she turned and looked at me, grinning from ear to ear... I know this shot will look staged, it isn't... and it is such a fun shot that I will go with it. Hope I don't get too bad of a score.

Post Processing consisted of cropping, levels, healing brush on her face, cloned out a few minor distractions, neat imaged it... sharpened it.. Resized for web.


Well, the shot got shot down (lol) and I kind of knew it would... it wasn't a wedding. Although there are weddings all the time at the beaches in California... she just had on a white dress on a hot day...but I appreciate all the comments that people took time to make.

Such a good photo! I'm sorry it didn't score higher. Many people apparently dq'd photos if the subject was looking at the camera. I'd like to say that I was your 9 but I actually voted 8, which on second look was too low.

Around here, we have ice cream that looks like that called "blue goo." I can't stand it, but my son thinks it is the only ice cream that should exist. I think what I like the most about this shot is the contrast between the playfulness/youthfulness of the ice cream cone, and the elegance/romance that is implied with the rose.

I love that line of blue ice cream! Seems like more of a portrait gone afoul than a candid, but it has a similar spirit. 7

Great moment captured here. I like the expression. Good cropping, DOF and lighting. Maybe just a bit more of here right arm as the bend line leads out of scene and the rest of arm does not bring you back in.

lol Sweet. The colours are lovely - The blue of the ice cream is a nice contrast to the red of the rose. Nice natural laugh too. I'm scared for her dres though! :)

Not sure whether this is set up or not (I am marking as if it isnt) but a lovely capture of a very nice smile. The blue bits of icecream are fantastic, especially the drop that you captured mid air
