This is quite sweet, Brian! I very much like the idea - life is pretty much a transition from generation to generation and this depicts that very well. Lovely shot of both of them. Hi to Carol (who by the way doesn't look old enough to be Melinda's mom.)

Wonderful picture, just not sure it fits the challenge very well. Probably would have done better in Free Study. Your step-daughter is beautiful. You captured a lovely natural expression. I'll bet your wife loves this shot.

Something's wrong with the colours and the skin tones. Maybe a warming filter that hasn't really worked?

not seeing the transition here unless it's the assumed change from daughter to mother. the title might be confusing me. nice candid, good expressions.

you don't have to take my comments so personally, they are based on my perception of the photo and not the photographer. i agree that the title shouldn't have to be relied upon to aid the viewer in understanding the image, but when there IS a title it DOES have an effect on the perception of the message. Here it confused ME as to the transition aspect of the shot.
Also you ought to wait until the voting is over to PM someone regarding this type of thing. How do you know you won't get a negitive reaction and cause voter to go back and drop the score he gave.
