Super sharp! What a pleasure it must've been to be able to shoot this event that is more traditional than the races at Laconia. Great capture. How wide/narrow was the focal length? The clarity of the back ground makes me believe that it was wide open. Do you think a 2.8 lens would've gotten this sharper? I've seen guys use the 18-200 at the speedbowl where I shoot sometimes, but they always use a flash.

Probably no faster than 40 or 50 MPH, but accelerating hard...

Congratulations on this excellent picture. I know that you had a fine set of tools to use on your trip and little or no time to familiarize yourself with them before landing in the 'Heaven on Earth' of motorcycle racing... I couldn't make the trip ~ as much as I wanted to! I'm glad you got to go and capture great photos, which will no doubt be a everlasting legacy of the trip. I suspect that nothing will compare with actually 'being there' for the Centenary Celebration of the Isle of Man TT Races. I'll be watching for other photo's of the trip entered into the Free Study 2007 - 06 and/or the Best Of 2007!

How fast do you estimate John was traveling when you coatured this shot? (Yes VERY is the right answer! ~ wondering about Kph/Mph ?)

Wow... Two of my favorite subjects! The Isle of Man & John McGuinness setting the first ever 130+ MPH AVERAGE lap speed !!! I'm sure that he was in just the right spot with all of the optimum conditions for you to get this historic picture! "Luck is when preparation meets opportunity". You were lucky to get such a historic picture! No doubt using a fast shutter speed diminished the motion blur. Minor nitpick ~ Just wondering if you had any filters in your bag of tricks to diminish some of the glare reflecting off of the bodywork? Great picture... added it to my favorites!
