 The Uptown theater is still operating as a single screen movie theater. Most or all of them have been closed or turned into multiplexes. I haven't been inside for about 15 years, but the restrooms were still original and they still used the balcony. (Often they get condemned as unsafe.)
Just found out the interior and facade are protected as historic sites, and must be maintained. It is very hard to fill a 900 seat theater in this day and age.
