Agree with all comments, except maybe the focus - I'm not big on focus, but especially with posthumous. |

wish dad was more in focus. the lighting in the room is great, but you've also blown some of the highlights on his forehead and cheek. |

A perfect setting. As mysterious it is, I am well placed. I see the opening to the hall, the door to the bedroom. He is in a public living room or foyer. He is reflecting a painting he doesn't even understand. I am amazed and impressed at just how much story you've packed into a single image. |

Lighting and composition are good.
Focus, however, seems a little off.

Although Dad is not quite in focus, this is a very interesting photo that makes me want to continue looking. The composition and emotive are very strong here. 7. |

Great idea! If you truly wish to recapitulate the painting though, echo the softness of the light as well. Also, your verticals on the left aren't vertical. |
