Thank you to all the nice comments and the generous votes, it was a fun week
For the curious minds, here you have my explanation
No pasting (illegal), no strobes, no extra flash
Simply crop, select the background, and apply
Horizontal motion blur 6 pixels
As simple as that:-)
PS The original is in my portfolio |

I'm sure you will be asked how you did it. I've tried to set this shot up in my mind and so far, the only thing I came come up with ... is a lotta luck. Congrats on a Great shot.... (2 or more stobes - timing slightly staggered, slow exposure small aperature ) ??? |

Well it's been "validated" and it's also awesome. How did you do this... inquiring minds want to know. :) 8. |

I get the feeling of motion here. Very dynamic and graphic. The background seems to move around the guy. |

Well I suppose a shot like this is valid under the new rules, but this much editing just looks cheesy in my opinion. It is an interesting composition and the colors and shapes and such are also pretty well done, but the whole effect is too much and ruins the shot. If somehow this is a camera trick instead of editing... then the camera trick ended up making the shot look like it had been done with cheesy editing, which isn't really any better. = ) |

validated eh? Can't wait to see what you did to this. Man looks like he has been pasted on, and too sharp compared to bg? |

The blur is interesting; how do you do it while keeping the main figure sharp? I'm guessing auxiliary flash during part of a longer exposure, but I don't really know that's the case. |

I´m not sure that the effect of the hockey player is really good to this photograph. It´s only my opinion. |

I'm not sure, but this really looks photoshopped...i really would have voted it higher if it wasn't...it would've looke more natural |

This is wild...but you can tell it was highly post-edited. The shadows are unnatural and it give this image an almost 3-D, surreal quality. 8 |

to me this image looks like it has had way too much editing done to it. maybe a milder touch on the editing would have resulted in a photo that does not look too fake |

The aura almost makes it look like the person is pasted on a shot of the ice. Good effect. |

It looks way too fake, the black halo around the guy is distracting. Would like to see the original rules in place here. |

This looks heavily manipulated to me. While the editing is unrestricted, it results in an image that isn't believable. |
