yeah, it could have been sharper, but my 70-200 IS is in the shop and this was shot handheld, practically in the dark, with no setup with a non-IS 70-200. i was simply there and had to grab the shot.

I liked this but ran out of time to comment. I thought the use of black neg space is a great compliment to the subject. The lighting is great and I like that you can see both of his eyes. I think your title lead me to believe he was either about to give a speech or was headed to a service. As usual - great photo!

wonderful example of negative space, but crop closer to bring it out. Hint: your negative space is on the right side of the frame, not the left!

Great lighting. I like the diagonal line of his collar. His expression doesn't quite suit the title but the shot is well done.
