Challenge: Action Shot (Advanced Editing I*)
Camera: Olympus C-5050Z
Location: Richie's Apartment in the Boogey Down Bronx!
Date: Jan 4, 2004
Aperture: F1.8
ISO: 64
Shutter: 2.0 sec
Galleries: Abstract, Action
Date Uploaded: Jan 4, 2004

Another last minute mini shoot for me! This one had me shooting down to the Bronx at ten to my friend Richie's abode. Finally a willing participant, Richie provided not only the setting but also the model swinging my subject. I took many shot this evening and, after much suffered contemplation, I ended up choosing this one.

Great shot, I love the composition and the idea. Like the hoody- looks kinder creepy ;-)

From the critique club:
I really like the idea here.
The action is good, it certainly meets the challenge.
Some things that I would change though...
the background is distracting. The picture frame(?) and crocked black line are distracting and take my eye away from the subject.
I'm not sure if you used a tripod here, but the background looks a little blurry which would indicate you might not have.
A tripod and shorter exposure maybe would have helped.
It was a cool, original idea though.

Nice idea, but I think it would have been a stronger photo in a completely dark room, or a room so dimly lit that the human figure was an almost invisible shadow. The background lights are distracting, IMHO.
