The bird moving in the shot is not a nice addition. I would have either converted to b/w or played with the shot to have something other than this very blah lighting

Okay I'll bite... What do radio waves have to do with color? You might have gotten a better shot here if it were late afternoon or early morning but this seems to have been shot midday?

I'm just wondering if your title refers to the color of the sky being washed out. Sometimes I find that the skies are very picky as to being photographed. A polarizing filter helps out sometimes.
