 Sitting along a busy NYC street when a passerby flicked a cigarette and oddly enough it landed in a crack in the sidewalk. With macro lens aatched i took a few shots of the slowly dying and not smoking butt:

Cropped. Created Border. rotated. Boosted contrast +21. Brightness -8. Boosted Hue and Saturation. Adjusted for DPC. USM. Saved For Web.

This image has a subject but could use some sharpness. That's the beauty of Macro Photography to me... being able to see textures that ordinarily unnoticed.

Bits of burnt paper that has turned to ashes but not crumbled. Interesting picture. Nice contrast.

Yes! This looks like an extreme macro, the DOF is very shallow. It could be food, it could be paper, it could be many things. Good photo for this challenge.
