Close to the end stage of a soap bubble's life (say the 4th out of 5 stages). In the beginning the colors are mostly pastel and not deep and contrasty. 4th stage is you get the white color mixed in with the darker ones, from the middle stage. The entered shot is I'd say very close to the last stage where the top of the bubble starts getting black and you get more spots. Then burst!

Barely cropped, just after resizing I took a sliver of the top and bottom to get the thin frame and a little closer up view.
The colors are as awesome as you see here. Adding contrast really boosted the colors and I added just a touch of extra contrast to the yellows.
