From the glare I think this is glass. It looks like lights, maybe a freaky type of lamp, the kind you touch and it all lights up. Or it could be a glass paperweight or dishes of some sort. I'd like to see it a bit sharper although if this is under glass this is probably as clear as it gets.

OK, it looks like fish scales, but I didn't know they could come in such cool colors and patterns. Hubby said octopus. If it is not some kind of aquatic animal, then it kinda looks like sequins on a dress.
