 Well I had no idea what to shoot for this. I tried a few things with a paperweight that I borrowed from work. Didn't quite work out and the lighting was a bear. I tried a couple of flower abstracts but I really wanted to avoid the flowers for this...for some reason, I just cannot image what it is (grrr).

Anyhow, I came across something that I had tried before and was interesting, at least to me but it did no quite turn out the way I wanted. This time, I did a few tests handheld and figured the best way to get this any where near the way I wanted was to use the tripod and cable remote. SO....

I made up bacground in PSElements of one third Red, one third Green and one third Blue from left to right. I displayed the background on my monitor and set the item in front of it. Shot with the ambient light of the computer monitor and with a flourescent over head light in the background which is in my kitchen area. The refraction of the colors give this an almost architectural feel, so you know I like it. The item is a tall, bell shaped vase....at least I think it's a vase...it could be a decanter. I bought it at a church Jumble sale and it did not come with a stopper.

So there you have it. Hope you do not guess. But perhaps it's obvious.

Post: Convert from raw in PSElements 3.0. Layer adjustments for levels, brightness/contrast and hue/saturation. Sharpen. Crop. Spot edited some dust. Resize. Sharpen.

Nice abstract! I would have cropped the line on the right or rotated the image clockwise, whatever it is on the right distructs a bit fom the rest of the photo.
