he managed to emerge with no life threatening injuries, even though, in this shot, he is actually playing with 50 year old broken glass in the window frame, despite me shouting 'don't touch the glass!' repeatedly at him while i was shooting.

Great shot. Love the composition and the processing. And you did a good job of hiding little Waldo there. :)

Greetings from the Critique Club

I love the feel here. The dark woods is interesting in itself, but the old car and subtle sepia convey the viewer back in time and make one wonder what might have been. Very well done.

There is a nice tension here. The obvious focal point is the end of the path; lots of lines (especially the path) lead to it and it's brightness catches the eye. The car is off to the side, and it's lines lead to the end of the path as well; so it clearly isn't the focal point. But it attracts attention because it is so different from the rest of the scene, and because of the kid in the window. But as soon as you look at it, it immediately leads your gaze back to the path. Great composition.

There's a bright area to the left of the focal point, not as bright as the end of the path itself, but still bright enough to cause some minor distraction. I think a little judicious burning to tone it down a bit would improve the photo. But that's minor; this really is a very good photo. I like it very much.

Beautifully done. The feeling of age and decay and lost dreams is intense.

I really like the photo but I'm having a very difficult time making out even a hint of a 'Waldo'. Still, I'll go with a 7. Ok, I came back with a magnifying glass. I think I see 'Waldo' in the window of the car looking up. For my troubles you better check comment as 'helpful'! Also, I'm bumping your photo to a 10.

Very nice. sides are a tad darker than I would have done, but you captured everything well, and have very nice B&W tones.

It always strikes me as a little sad when I see an abandoned classic. Slightly over sharpened, but otherwise a great entry.

I can only imagine how many bugs and critters call that car home! Waldo MUST be a guy to climb in there with them!

I want to walk down this road, and see that car, with grass growing on the roof; I want to open that door, and sit inside where "Waldo" is, and just look around, the quiet enveloping me, the light sifting through the trees to barely touch me. A delightful image, and one of my favorites of the challenge. 10.

Great car. That should lend itself to a few shots through the seasons on it's own.

Nice title, and concept.

LOL is that Waldo in the car? What a fantastic image beautiful sense of desertion and solitude. The duotone works fantastically and you have an image which doesnt simply meet the challenge but which is beautiful and haunting to look at

Something about that car makes me want to put "Just married" on the back, and have a couple kissing in the back window. Maybe a really old couple, because it looks like the've been there a while. :)
