I think you could have kept this in color because the boy has such a winning smile that he still would have been a stand out in the photo. The looks like some kind of commercial ad - great catch!

I like the selective desat here. I agree with the others about the label on the cameraman's shirt, though.

I think the winner would have been better isolated by DOF and soft focus rather than selective desat.

No doubt you probably tossed up whether or not to keep the colour in cameramans shirt label. IMO just the colour in the main subject would have been great. The cameraman stands out without the small bit of colour you have kept as he is the only one in shot without a uniform on. Nice shot. 7

Nice. The logo on the back of the news camera man is a bit distracting because it is in color and too close to the focal point of the photo to be ignored.
