 I guess this is cheating, but I wanted to finish the project and a compilation seemed like the easy option :-)

And this was really easy to do if you have photoshop.
I simply made each picture 150 px on it's longest size.
I then opened them all in photoshop.
Went to FILE-AUTOMATE-PHOTOMERGE.
All the images can then be dragged and moved around within the window.
They blend and merge themselves.
It's great!!!!

Excellent idea; I do these sometimes (photo-montages), usually for my daughter when we've visited somewhere and I think she might like a few images from the visit on her photo board (usually sheep and ducks and beasties, but sometimes us, too); your way sounds much easier than what I've been doing! I like your arrangement here, too, lots to look at, and great finish to the challenge!
