I know, it's a duck, and some people hate duck pictures, so I am just asking for a bad score! I happen to like them in general, and this one in particular. This is a juvenile wood duck at the DC zoo, where he is technically just a visitor. This was taken in early morning before all the crowds showed up, and it really was peaceful and IMO beautiful.
My past FS entry was also a bird at the zoo. I sense a pattern here ;-)
PP - converted from RAW, cropped, cloned out leaf and other flotsam and jetsam in the water, tinted reddish bits of background teal, burnt background top and right, dodged/burnt duck bits (mostly his eye), used saturate brush on head and beak and tail, USM, created 2nd layer and reduced noise in water, merged, smudged weird color artifact in bit of water, added border, resized, sharpened, lightly blurred duck edges where he looked oversharpened on head and tail |

Oh Mary, this is wonderful! I love the dark feel to it. Like you captured it at night. And what a beautiful reflection.

| just beautiful. I love this phot. Nice reflection. I do think the spots in the lighter colored water could have been removed to improve the photo however. there's a few just above the head and then down below as well. |
