 So today I got to shoot real models with real lights and everything, and figured I'd commemorate the experience with a challenge entry. I'm sure there are thousands (literally!) of pictures of the models from the workshop - this be merely one and not the best of the lot by far. Gotta say that it was a wonderful experience (the whole thing) and that now I have an odd desire to go out and buy lights and stuff. I shall refrain, however. For now...

Nice low key image! I can see why you are yearning for lights now. I must admit that when I first saw this (I already knew it was yours) I thought you had been shooting store windows again. Then I noticed that the skin didn't look plastic. What a great experience you had. Congratulations on a well deserved terrific score, especially for a Free Study.

Excellent lighting. Love the textures in here top as well. And I would suggest running out right now and buying lights. It's so much fun and there is so much to learn! What workshop did you attend? How did you find it?

Heh! Well, they ARE Nasti's lights (just the large soft box for this shot) and Toyan was in the room somewhere. :-)

Deb - what a gorgeous picture! This must be from your GTG... I think I need to go to a European GTG lol. This will sound dumb but what catches my attention the most is the lighting of the details on her clothing - it really draws you in. The border is a nice choice too. A very lovely photo.

The lighting is phenomenal. Gorgeous. I love the tucks and folds of her gown. Oftentimes that can be a detraction, but in this case it really adds to the allure of the shot.

Nice model and I like the angle used in your lighting of her. Some images with similar lighting loose detail in the opposite side of the face, but you have managed to expose this well enough to maintain detail throughout. Well done, 8
