So after staying up late last night processing images from an evening photo session, I was awoken at 5 AM by one of my lovely kitties. Instead of going back to sleep as I usually do, I thought I'd go out to catch the sunrise and start day one out right! Took lots of shots, thought I got some nice sun through clouds close-ups. Looked at them on the computer and they were horribly grainy -- realized I had never reset the ISO after last night and it was still set to 1250. Doh! Ah well. So I ended up with this for the day, just a peacock in the road. It is a bit odd to have wild peacocks in a rural New Mexico neighborhood though!

Interesting find. There are no interesting looking birds to be seen where I live.

Wow I love the rolling hills and the peacock seems so out of place it is wonderful. What a great and slightly surreal start to your 50 days!!!

How lucky are you? I'd love to see peacocks running around. This one looks like it has gorgeous feathers as well.

Wow. I love the colors. So... Why DID the peacock cross the road?

I've never seen a wild peacock before. In south Florida, they have wild parrots and iguanas.

Why did the peacock cross the road, indeed. What really needs to be addressed is, What colour is a peacock's egg?

Yeah, wow, that undulating road...

This is a really cool shot, almost a surreal feel to it.

Actually, that undulating road is pretty cool, but I also like the peacock in unexpected surroundings.

cool! i like the way the peacock is creating that horizontal line by crossing he road, and in the background we are going uphill in fits and starts, leaving a broken double yellow line. nice compo!
