I have been a little sad/lonely up in Cooperstown so this is something a little happier, i was shooting self portraits and my friend came walking up and this was caught as i greeted him. The sun was behind the trees and i had a reflector right by my face on the side

I just love this photo.

Wowsers!!!! (note the 4th exclamation point on my wowsers, that doesn't happen often!) I agree 100% with the previous comments. Your b/w is awesome, just great, great tones. Wonderful light. And an unorthodox composition that is just to die for. What an engaging sp. Lovely.

OK, I just wandered through your SP's, and without a doubt, this is my favorite.
Candid. Genuine feel. Happy. It all works.

I'm not quite sure there are words that describe how great this shot is. Unscripted, natural, and a small glimpse at real you could be just a start I suppose. Your black and white tones are wonderful not over done but add a 1930's nior feeling to this shot. As Art stated; you positively have an old school beauty about you that radiates in this shot so well.

Beautiful work Claire, stay with it.

I really like the expression. Great lighting and focus. Looking out of the frame adds some mystery to the image, 'what are you looking at?'

Ah... this is really cute. I LOVE the expression! :-)

And technically, the b&w conversion is superb. Some could argue whether you should be looking into the frame or out of it. I think it looks fine just the way it is.
