Shit, my editing techniques are so simple they take about 3 to 4 minutes per photo. I've never worked longer than that. I'm one lazy fucker. Just play around in photoshop with layers in different modes and layer masks with simple gradients and a bit of the old dodging and burning. seriously, I treat every photo differently but I only edit it once very quickly. One tip to my editing is that I immediately do my black and white conversion and work on the photo in black and white and then later copy the original layer to the top and put it in color mode to bring the color back in. At that point I will drop the opacity down and add it a few more times with soft light or hard light or multiply with various layer masks...

not that any of you that asked will come back here to see this.

This is my pic of the pack. Excellent tones, focus and the stop action is wonderful. WOW

I'd be interested in the processing, too. Excellent shot to start with, and wicked processing. (And by the way, when I scroll down to comment, the resulting very thin picture is quite intriguing as well. Just three sets of feet crossing in the midde. The bike and legs, and three more sets of feet on the right with the handicapped signs on the ground.)
