 A snapshot of a rainy 9th Avenue, NYC, late afternoon, 4th of July, 2007.

An unremarkable photo, though I wanted to catch the moment because of the relative lack of traffic -- usually at this time of day the traffic is curb-to-curb as far as the eye can see.

Looks a lot like dowtown Austin, did yesterday, rainy & empty. I'm a sucker for NYC shots, it's such an amazing city.

the city is taking a nap! i used to live in hell's kitchen, so this is looking mighty familiar! i like the triangle of sky with its apex at the center of the photo. nicely done!

Interesting shot. (a) The light is good for a rainy afternoon, and (b) you never realize how wide those streets are until they are empty, which, as you say, is practically never. You really caught the feel of a rainy afternoon.
