 A rose bud from my wife's garden - I did a partial desaturation to help it stand out. This was late afternoon, 6:15pm, when it is getting dark here on the equator. Our yard is full of gardens, so this is a pleasant slice of my life:)

It could be a little sharper on the bud, but generally a nice composition. The selective desat works for me.

having the pink pop out from the grey background is a wonderful idea

I love the way the pink stands out against the dark background. I think keeping it dark made it much more effective. Good composition.

I typically don't like selective desat like this, but this one is kinda interesting. Like life coming out of something non-living.
