It seems to me that your focal point is off. If it's where you want it, then I'm not sure what you were trying to achieve...

I really like this. I'm not sure what it is about it, but it just has a great richness to it. The dof is great, the color tone is great, and it has wonderful textures. It's very three dimensional, very sharp. Really great!

nice image. i really like the composition and the angles created. could have liked the focus to have been better, or changing the dof.

A few things have grought your score down a touch from me: I think such a simple composition needs to be horizontal in frame; the pipe on the right is pure distraction - without it those stairs would sit perfectly in the stronger area of the image - and that brings me nicely to my third point, which is that the 'stairs' (quite apart frm being the title of the picture) are the subject despite the focus being on the nearer angle of bricks. Put otherwise, I think your DOF and composition clash with the demands of the subject. 7

Great mood and lighting.

wow is this a toy or real? Nice view point. if only the far steps were in focus.

Good eye...I like the different squared/rectangluared shapes that have formed from this cropping and the almost gold tone as well. I like the way you've captured the light and texture of the floor and walls. This deserves to be hanging in a SOHO gallery in NYC. Very artistic and very well done.

interesting, nice colors

The textures and angle of view are great.

cool image love the tones love the fact that you can 't relate the scale of the shot nicely done... one of my favs

They don't look all that surreal, but still a nice take.

This is the foot point of view...nice

The stairs should be in focus. but the focal point is about 3 feet in front of them. :(
01/14/2004 07:45:42 PM
surreal yes. Unique shot.

I like this blend of light and dark. The texture and color of the bricks is good. Having "Stairs" in the title leads me to expect them to be in focus, but I like the DOF anyway.

looks to me like a backdrop from a tool video.

Very nice! I like the composition. I also like the way it fits the challenge.
01/14/2004 09:02:16 AM
Depth of field could of been improved. Stairs themselves appear out of focus.
01/14/2004 06:43:43 AM
Wonderful perspective and play of DOF. The lighting is very fitting too.
01/14/2004 05:21:50 AM
Interesting POV. more DOF is needed here, to improve sharpness on the whole photo.
01/14/2004 01:41:46 AM
really like the perspective and the texture of this shot. maybe a slight rotation to the left, as that top left horizontal is the most distinguishable right angle and move focus to the stairs, not the flat spot halfway there. good stuff.
