Sorry guys, not my best work, really more of a scramble...took the kids to the lake today, after my daughter (age 6) & I had a killer fight...she's working that Independent thing just a bit too hard!
anyway, while we were at the shore, she handed me this mini-bouquet, and said "Love you Mom"...I placed them in a shell my son had collected for me & decided this would be it for today. Looking at it again, it reminds me of the wonderful home/school made gifts they make for us all the time! :)
KIDS!! sigh...

Oh, the flowers' name is:
bird's-foot trefoil - Lotus corniculatus

When a child hands you weeds, they are as priceless as Orchids.
I like what you did with these. A gem in an Encyclopedia-like 30-day challenge.

My son is seven so I know those days. He will pick flowers sometimes and when he gives them to someone (not always me) he gets down on his knees and bows his head while he holds up the bouquet and says "for you my love". Too cute the first couple times but after the first few it gets old. That's horrible to say isn't it? I need to teach him some different lines or something I guess.

Really nice story. Great crispness, the yellow of the flowers and white of the shells are very pleasing.

Oh Annie this is great. Print it out and stick it in a scrapbook for her ... give it to her when she becomes less of a chore ... in about 20 years. Sorry ... from experience one gains laughter.
I really like the title and the beautiful composition. Actually ... one of my favorites so far in this side challenge.

All I can say is that they don't get any easier to raise as they get older. Sweet story and I like the way you have added the elements in the picture. I think adjusting the curves could improve this so that some of the flower details will come out.

A fabulous shot! I loved the story behind it. This should go on your wall with special sentimental value. Thank you for the flowers name! I never seen it before. so lovely!

Beautiful little yellow flowers. They are puffy and elegant..
Anni, very creative placing them in the shell. The little shell is a nice touch.
Nice image:)

I like this one, beautiful composition. I probably would try to clean up a couple of the extras (the hair at the top of the shell, the little bright thing at bottom left), but this is excellent. It's a good shot to play around with. That's what I did (hot day, I'm very bored):

Ursula is right, that's not unusual, this is exquisite. Great textures and extremely well exposed.

Flowers pop nicely from the abalone shell. Wonderful tone of yellow in the flowers.
