Had my second dose of the HPV vaccine today. I really hate shots and was hoping this one wouldn't hurt as bad as the first one, but unfortunately I wasn't so lucky. It again felt like liquid pain running all the way down my arm (worse than any other shot) and I'm very phobic of needles to begin with, but when the pain was added I couldn't stop the tears coming for about 10 minutes. Ugh, maybe I'll eventually get over it...I hope so.
What you see here is the bandaid from the shot with extremely shallow DOF. Might be too small for some people to see, but it's there, I promise :)

Shot is a great investment in your future (needle, not the pic!). Great DOF.

I saw what it was from the thumb and was curious as to the story behind it. So sorry for your plight! I avoid medical procedures at all costs - for exactly that reason. Bah. Feel better!

I just HAD to click on the thumb for this!! It looked SO cool!! I can see exactly where your focus is... right around the near edge of the band-aid. It did take me a moment to figure out what it was though. LOL

Can I just say: Kudos to you for getting the HPV vaccine!! I was a victim of cervical cancer caused by HPV and was lucky to have caught it when I did (I hadn't been in for a pap in about 4 years and was pregnant so had to go have one) because it was moving VERY fast and changing daily. Luckily, I am alive and well (even if I am minus a few parts). My daughter will get the shot at age 11 (as soon as she can) and I am happy to see someone setting such an excellent example for our youth :)

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!

I hate needles too, I really like the DOF. You can tell right away what it is, but in a really different perspective & it grabs your attention.

i really like this image - thye angle and positioning of the 'horizon' is well done

i hate shots as well but I have to endure them every week! It is better to have a few shots than to have the complications that come from disease.

Nice abstract macro! I would've never guessed what it was!

Oh, THAT's what that is! This would have been a good puzzle-macro shot. :) Oops, sorry, I said 'shot'. Poor you.

I see it!! I, too, hate shots of any form or fashion. I've never had any that hurt like you described, but still. . . Why can't they invent a Star Trek thing that just scans over you to find out what is wrong, then gives you a painless zap to correct it. :)

Amazingly shallow depth of field.
