This pod was in a formal bed and I couldn't get the angle i wanted. I wonder how the pod got split. there can't be much good eating in there.

I did a lot of contrast mapping to bring the BG down.

It was a freak lightning strike that split and burned it. lol :)

Now that is weird looking isn't it? It almost looks like it was burned. Lots of nice detail in the bud.

Poppy seed heads actually contain a lot of seeds! Maybe somebody split it to save the seeds for next year's flowers! :) Interesting shot!

Post-processing is admirable. Poppy seed pods are not that big, maybe there is a specialist bird out there w/a taste for poppy seeds. ??
