Challenge: Point of View (Classic Editing)
Camera: Fujifilm FinePix S5000 Z
Location: England

ISO: 200

The inherently poor lighting conditions in the UK at this time of year lead me to taking shots indoors for this challenge, and inevitably, some sort of macro shot.

I actually took this picture with the map resting on the table by the window in my room, to make the most of the light available. I waited all weekend for the sun to come out, and when it did I had about 30 minutes to get all the shots that I wanted.

I'm very pleased with the final pic that I got, but my only minor gripe is that I wish the blue chart-pin was pointing more upwards and into the picture, as opposed to out of it. I guess I was concentrating more on getting the focus and DOF than the composition of the picture itself.

Good picture. Saturday morning I was just under the first "a" in Fareham

Point of blue pin needs to be in focus too.

Seems a little bright, but a good idea. I like the use of focus too.

The narrow depth of field really "pinpoints" the location. Nice idea!

Nice photo and fits the challenge. Increasing the contrast and saturation of the colors might give a boost to the photo.

I think the depth of field decision makes this shot more than the POV, but I like it.

It may just be my love of maps, but I really am taken by this photo. I don't know if you played around with it at all, but I wonder what it would look like with the pinpoint of the blue pushpin in focus. I really love the way this turned out. Nice work!

i think upping the saturation and contrast would have strengthened this image. looks very pastelly.

Would have preferred a deep DOF because I just don't find the pins to be all that interesting.

Very cool- good idea. Could have been even color if the thumbtacks had darker more vibrant colors but good!

You certainly hit the nail on the head with this one :-(
Well composed picture into the bargain.

So this is where you live? Okay I like it, the "point of view" you have chosen does make this ordinary photo of a map with a couple of pins on it look more interesting than just an ordinary photo of a map with a couple of pins on it (8)
