This is another of my detour finds. There were 3 vehicles in similar shape in the front yard of one of the houses I happened to pass. Of the three, this one had the most character.

I'm not a big fan of selective desat but it seemed to fit this capture well...plus it helped draw attention away from the double-wide in the upper right hand corner ;)

I like the color of the rust.

Nice job on the selective desat., I loved photo of old broken down cars, there's such a history there.

loooove this kind of shot. It makes me think of how different the world was when this truck was in its prime, driving busily around town.

I never would've noticed the double wide if you hadn't mentioned it. I guess that goes to show how good a job you did hiding it. I'm surprised how many colors there are on that rusted out old truck. The selective desat works well to make them all pop.

Detours finds are just the best. I agree with you on desats in that I think they can be used too often but this works well.

Not 100% sure about the vignetting but only because the photo is so sharp and good that the black and white chassis on the left of the car really stands out against it because there are such sharp tones and contrast on it

Having said that I gotta add that I like this picture a lot

Oh yeah!! I love this sort of thing, full B&W would be nice too! but I love the colors so this is better for me. I love the decaying Americana feel to this very nice shot!!

Oh, I love the colors on the clunker! Very well done!!! Another way to focus the attention on the clunker would be the square crop, loosely dictated by this challenge :-)
