We don't get a lot of colorful sunsets around here. ??? Don't know why. Today, though, my husband was out for his walk and called to tell me about this one. I grabbed the tripod, ran to a high point in the driveway, and snapped a few.

I don't *run,* period, for anything. Except to take a picture. :)

Nice colors. I like the diagonal separating the two part of the picture.

Simply beautiful. Stunning purples and the silhouette of the tree both frames the shot and provides a lovely counterpoint to the colours

I see that you too have your family trained to enable you with your photography addiction. Good job. And a very pretty sunset picture. (perhaps you get few colorful sunsets because you have nice clear air?)

Hahaha! I'd run to take that picture too! Very pretty colors and a nice sharp silhouette, great job. btw, I ran thru the woods this morning to take a picture, not much of a runner either.

First off, this is such a beautiful sky. I love the tree to kind of hold it, as well. Total side note though, a close friend of mine shares your "enthusiasm" for running and informed me today that she ran up 6 steps and had to sit to catch her breath (she only does these things after I tell her about running for exercise, her sarcasm is to die for). Love that your evening started off so wonderfully!

i'm totally with you about the running .. the only time i run is when i'm trying to get an excellent shot .. and that's the honest truth .. the thing is, i find myself running quite a lot ...!!
sunrises and sunsets are sooooooo quick ... you see it, and think 'OMG thats so absolutely beautiful' .. of course you have your camera with you which is like an extension of your own body .. but unfortunately you then realise that altho the sunrise/set is the most amazingly beautiful thing you've ever seen, the scene sucks .. thats when the ability to run very very fast comes in incredibly handy .. !! ..
i'm thinking as i write this that a bit'v training might be a very good thing .. not for my health but so that i'm that much quicker ... of course with the added advantage of speed, i might be able to get that elusive 7+ in a challenge or a ribbon .. and i'm not talking brown .. it'd be good if i could put that in a photograph for the 'dream' challenge .. coz it's certainly 'in my dreams' .. !!:):)

edit to say .. i got carried away talking about the running and forgot to say that i love the beautiful colours in this sunset & i love how the image is sort'v divided by the sky and the silhouette of the trees ... excellent .. :)

I'm glad you ran for this. Beautiful colors and the silhouette of the pine helps give it perspective. Love it.

Oh my, such lovely vibrant sky colors! I love how you have the evergreen silhouetted against that sky, this is gorgeous! We have a lot of colorful skies here in NM, but not a lot of evergreens :-)
