I like the b&w version, it really brings out the texturs of the leaves and the shine of the pest. However, I think I prefer the color because of its vibrance. Its a tough choice to figure which one I like the best as it does well both ways.
It does look like he is waving. These guys are really bad this year! |

Great detail in the B/W, but I think the colour version really brings out the details in this image - the fierce bug, the hairs, the whole thing. |

The metallic parts of this photo are still quite evident in black and white. |

Stir fry in order?
I do like the PP on this and the metallic sheen you got out of it. DoF works well here.

I like the black and white version, that little monster looks almost metallic. Nice composition. Very unique and interesting shot.
Oh and no, do not get one of those traps , they are horrible and just bring them all to your yard. And then you have a bag filled with 5 pounds of dead beetles. Not a pretty sight! |

OK....I get it now....the little bugger ate the spiky petals!....Sorry must have been asleep earlier, or something. |

actually, I've been told those traps act to lure MORE of the suckers into the area...I stick with good old fashioned Squashing (yuck!) or dropping them in gasoline is very effective too, if you like torturing them as well... :) |

These are both beautiful. I am not sure which one I like best, but I think it is this one. Your florals are wonderful! |

Excellent in BW, elegant. Only goes to prove there is Art everywhere. |

Great detail. This becomes elegant in B&W.
Japanese beetle traps are very effective. Or a tub of water with 1/4" of oil on top that you can drop the bugs into. Then at least you don't have smashed bugs to deal with. |

He looks like he's waving at you. Interesting shot with a little action to boot. Nicely conceived and presented. |

Here's the color version...I seemed to have a VERY hard time getting something I liked today...this color seemed very electric & washed out at the same time. so I converted to B&W..
