Ahh, I so hate this challenge, I don´t get it, it doesn´t speak to me and I didn´t have a clue on what to photograph or what it´s really about :( If it wasn´t for DPL and not wanting to let my teammates down, I would never have submitted a photo to this challenge.
That doesn´t mean I don´t like the photo, I absolutely love it but that´s mostly cause those two little pranksters are my kids, 2 year old Monika and 4 year old Alexander. Please don´t make me regret entering this in the morning, I will probably self-DQ for the first time if this scores really poorly, I love this shot way too much for that and for the first time in a good while I actually care how a photo will do in a challenge, not that I expect it to ribbon though, I just don´t want it close to the bottom in the challenge.
Anyway, shot is just with ambient lighting, taken after 8 PM and post processing is minimal, raw conversion stuff and curves, hue/sat and very minor cloning of a distractive flower and the tip of his knee just barely edging into the frame. Of course sharpened and added frame after resizing. |

You know. . .there's something morbidly comforting to know that even you go thru the same 2nd-guessing of challenge photos and worrying that your work will end up near the bottom :) I think I do that every time.
The photo is so precious -- and what a tribute to you that you end up in 11th place with a photo you think you are going to have to self-dq :)
Congratulations on truly excellent work (as always)!

| Very nice picture and great colors, but I'm not sure if it's Dichotomy and since I'm not even sure to understand Dichotomy myself, I'm voting most pictures as if they meet the challenge. |

| roflmao..... The dichotomy I see is not boy/girl but more like love/hate as she kisses him while choking the **** out of him. And he's oblivious to the whole dichotomy... lol :) Adorable!!! Just a bit high key on his hair but its hard when they're that blond to avoid it. Maybe just a bit tighter crop on the right to put them in more of the thirds position and get rid of the oof background on that side (not that its distracting but I think it would help the shot). |
