Day 10,Character Goods Day

I'm guessing I've featured the Top 5 popular characters, including Mickey Mouse on Day 5. (I actually thought the hair band was Mickey, but the shoes are Minnie's). Elmo isn't in the Top Five, he just happened to sneak into the photo.

Hello Kitty is ubiquitous in the extreme, with something like 2000 different new products produced per week, including the pen case from an insurance company. Dear Daniel???

And then there's Disney Pooh, which I think is a travesty of the original. They really reached the lowest point when they produced Disney Pooh dressed as a jack-o'lantern for Halloween, and also a silvery white Disney Pooh at Christmas....

None of these are mine. They were all in the teachers' staffroom (though the Minnie Mouse hairband was on a girl's ponytail).

Quite a collection of plastic "stuff"! Elmo looks like a DOM (Dirty Old Man) peeking up Minnie's skirt, and she looks justifiably irritated and about to give him his comeuppance.

must agree, real pooh is way better than disney pooh. like the montage... makes everything look so stylized and fun.

LOVE this shot! Already in the thumb I could tell this was going to be good. I'm a Hello Kitty fan and ultimately would like to collect things such as the toaster, sewing machine, vibrator, coffee maker, etc, etc. But I have held myself back and only have a few little items.

Dear Daniel - I take it your name is not Daniel? And I have to agree about Disney Pooh. I grew up with A.A. Milne's Pooh and was really annoyed at the cartoon version - especially the very bad voice they gave him.

Great photo!

Very fun selection! This brings back memories... I lived in Japan for a couple of years in the late 1980's. I had never seen so many 'cutesy' products made not only for children but for adults.
