Tortured Jamie by making her wear a hat and then using the flash (at least I had a diffuser on it ... still got harsh shadows because I didn't use a fill light off to one side to counteract the hat's shadow on her face). She forgave me after I fed her some dried pineapple.

PP - converted from RAW, cropped, levels, burnt feather some, dodged eye and cloned out stray hairs and a drip, USM, added border, resized, sharpened with noise reduction, touched up eye with smudge tool where it was speckly.

Ahh, how very cute! She does look a bit disgusted with you for the hat... :-) Love your close crop, and I too think the light is fine!

Looks like the diffuser did it's job as the lighting isn't that bad really. No hard shadows and no hot spots on the fur.

Doesn't look too bad actually. Avoided that harsh, flash look with the diffuser.
