OK, so I kind of broke a rule today. Or, um, two.
No possible way to make a square crop of this, so I didn't even try. Also, well, um. There's that whole "real" thing. Well, this IS real -- it's just a sort of whimsical version of reality. (oh my gosh, if I had octuplets twice...)
Really this is a very quick and dirty edit (twelve layers of quick and dirty, but oh well), and there's a major error front and center. Also, focus is baaad; I usually get pretty good DOF even at wide apertures with my Tokina 19-35mm -- just, apparently, not THIS good. It doesn't help that I hadn't actually intended to do this when I started shooting; I didn't have a tripod or anything (maybe next time). We were just playing at the school playground, and the kids were playing a game we like to do, where you run around the circle and wherever you stop (when Mom makes a screeching-brakes sound effect, of course), you have to come up with the name of a book character or something you wear or the title of a movie or the name of an African animal -- or whatever the person who's It decides, but you get the idea -- that starts with the letter where you are. Anyway. They started running around, and I had the camera on burst mode like I always do, and ... well, this happened. |

Referring to your day 35 blog, I think you made a great choice to choose this image to compete in the fair! I so love this image, and I hope it fares well in the competition! |

Whatever the errors are, I can't see them. Just a great editing job. So, who cares about rules when you produce something this good? |

I'm sure the local fertility clinic would be proud to have this hanging in their waiting room. Or the planned parenthood.
Love the outcome! |

This is really cool, and the game is great, very similar to the sorts of things I do as a preschool teacher :P. |

What a great idea! At first I thought it was a ton of different kids all dressed the same, very cool effect! |

That is just a wonderful effect (and what a cool letter wheel)
Very attractive and appealing image and I love the way that you have kept the focus going so none of your 16 children look out of place.
I am also impressed by your fortitude, in that you say you wouldnt want octuplets twice, which seems to suggest that you think that just once would be manageable

Wow, I see absolutely nothing wrong with this, it is great as is! The slight variation in focus of the kids adds to the feeling of motion. I'm so glad you broke the rule, this is very clever and fun and so well done... I love it!!!! |

Amazing work. If we have a 50 Day Hall of Fame, this should be in it. Very creative. |

Well, I love it! I think it's cute and so funny! I bet the kids like it too. And yes, octuplets twice... that would hurt ; ) |

I saw the thumb and thought, how clever, she got these kids to wear the same thing and line up in half circles. (I just woke up, what can I say?)
This is awesome! I love it. I hope you are going to print this and hang it up at home. It's a really fun and creative capture. Nice job! |

Who cares about minor errors! This is clever and fun. And did you say this was handheld? Very nicely done. The children are very cute trying so seriously to stay on path. |
