This flower has something that oozes through the bottom of the flower to the outside of the petals. This black bumble bee was busy lapping it up.
I forget the name of the flower but the bees love them.
Straight from the camera shot.

The black bee sure stands out on the bright flowers. I haven't ever seen a completely black bee, are they common in California?

Very nice, especially straight from the camera. I'd like to see more of these flowers, they look so interesting (and pink!).

Is this honeysuckle?
Great capture of the bee. Lighting is harsh, but not too many details have been lost.

For straight from the camera that's a great shot. Really no need for processing.

Maybe a little bright. That bee sure looks comfortable or maybe he is hugging that bloom because he loves it so much. Nice.

Hi Evelyn- beautiful bright colors w/a pleasing sense of chaos bg & foreground. I gather you're trying to emphasize the bee here, & since the flower grows up a stalk, maybe a long crop orientation would work well to not "shorten" the plant?
