Nice idea...would have been better to get a frontal shot..I tried to capture these at Aransas last year though and understand why you get lots of shots of that facing the other way. I'm glad you used the Nat'l Geographic border...I thought more would. |

Nice picture (not sure what the bird is). Unsure if this was a grabbed or planned shot. If it was planned, if you could have got the camera a little closer to the ground, not so much of it would have been lost in the mud/grass or going to the other exteme - moving higher to show how well camoflaged it is!. |

Nice NG-style border! However, everything that is not sky seems to have the same tone. The details of the ground seem to attract too much attention away from the bird. Also the bird seems to lack focus. Good effort, however. |

Could be a little brighter too accentuate the bird more, but nice picture! The sky is great! |

Gotta love cranes! Nice shot, a little noisy around the head area, but good job overall. |

Not this species. They hunt certain sub-species of sandhill cranes in some states. Nice shot though. |

The image seems a bit flat, maybe it's color that is missin. The bird seems to blend in with the ground. Nice subject though!! |

The yellow border certainly captures the spirit of National Geographic. This is a very sharp shot of the bird, with a simple background. Looks great. |

I love these birds. They are very difficult to take a pic of. I have dozens of shots of Sandhill Cranes and Blue Herrons... very few from the front view. They always walk away... don't fly unless go get too close. |

The composition looks very much like NG, but the bird seems to blend in too much. |

Beatiful image, but in my opinion the border is damaging your image, but it´s just my opinion |

Very flat which is a shame, a poloriser would help next time perhaps. Still it is quite NG |

this is a nice shot, but somehow lacks contrast. seems too dim/gray scale. |

Great subject, but rather flat light and a shot of the backside of the animal |

Yep, totally an NG shot. It looks a bit washed out or undersaturated though. It's not quite as crisp as it could be methinks. |

Extra credit for the yellow/white border! A bit more lighting on the bird would really make this shot pop. Good dof, interesting composition |

Even though I know that National Geographic uses the yellow border, I find it to be overpowering in this shot, very nice capture though. 7 |
