What really works here besides the obvious, is the background. Perfect to compliment.

You did very well with capturing the details in this. I think bright yellows/oranges are difficult to get right. I also like the dark area of background at the tip of the flower.

sensual..I like the repetition in the bg of the curves and lines...petals unopened, and good detail in the bud itself (the lines of color in the petals)
