Every summer in Michigan City they have Summerfest and during that time period every Thursday the Michigan City Municipal Band plays. On weekends they have events such as Mud Bog, and the upcoming sand castle contest and fireworks.

The clouds and sunset looked awesome in the background but I shot a sunset last night and we were here for the music anyway. It drizzled off and on but the music was good. And yes, the camera went straight to the car when the rain came!

Three images combined in Photomatix, HDR, and a tad of tonemapping. Just a bit of tweaking in PS. I couldn't bring myself to a square crop, although I did try. The clouds did look that way - I resisted urge to enhance them.

I think you did a really good job with the HDR/tonemapping. To me it's quite subtle. I also respect your decision not to square crop, though there's some space to the left you might have cropped (though it would have left you with a very non-standard crop!).

Love the clouds. They look awesome. The perspective is interesting too with the stage being small and dead center like that. Photomatix is on my wish list - looks like it's fun to use!

Really cool perspective, not to mention the clouds that were so willing to work with the angle you achieved! Great shot!

Lovely shot of people enjoying the summer prom but its really made by those clouds which seem to be being funnelled by the gap in the trees which provides a wonderful contrasting element

Really nice perspective. Glad you left the clouds alone. They are great just the way they are.

when I saw the thumbnail, my first reaction was "Oh no, another hyper-HDR type of shot." BUT, the full-size is much more pleasant to look at. :) Great capture. The clouds in the background give it an ominous feeling.

Great composition. It makes you feel that you are in the picture rather that just looking at it. Good work.

The sky looks amazing! The angle of this is really cool how it shows the distance to the stage...looks like a fun everning (minus the rain).

I seee the front seats are for the people who can't afford to bring their own chairs. Is that right? ;-P It looks like a nice evening, until the rain came...

Cool photo. The clouds look like they're emanating from the stage.

Kind of reminds me of the first Ghostbusters when the clouds gathered around the tower when Zuul was returning.
- Please forgive the movie geek reference :)
