So I was thinking maybe it would be more fun to show you more about the town I live in and what my neighborhood looks like.

So yesterday we started with the weed garden, which actually still exists because I got sidetracked last night. And I was going to show you another picture but the photos did not turn out right.

So this evening I was outside talking to some people and I just kind of looked over at my neighbor's house and I saw this reflection in the window. I thought it would be fun to try and capture this - and I did. It's not composed as well as I would like but I really am pleased with the final result.

This photo is indeed the recipient of post-processing.

I blurred the darker house in the background (because I wanted the flag to pop out more), and blurred the window since the blinds were cutting into the reflection. Dodge and burn the reflection and the window, and played with color to amp up the red brick.

Now I am waiting to see how many of my curious neighbors are gonna come after me...

Wow, great eye to capture this wonderful shot in the first place, but then reading your processing steps I appreciate that you've improved the original scene even more! I love the repeated red, white & blue of the flag in the brick and the back house... a very moving shot :-)

I love the red house combined with the red from the flag, it really does jump out! Great job on processing, I think blurring the house in the background was a great choice.

I love the red brick housing and the flag both stands out and complements this. The effect is highlighted more by the fact that the background to the flag is board and so muted. Nice job and dont worry about the neightbours unless there name is Soprano (in which case I doubt they would have an american flag!!)

Great job on the processing. The red in the brick really balances well with the red in the flag, and of course the reflection does as well. Did the neighbor behind stop painting? The contrast in the white part of siding is begging for attention after my eye wanders from flag to house and back again.

Excellent PP, the photo really pops, but I don't think it is too much.

Lovely! Really rich colors, great lines and angles. Good shot. Very small-town feeling, I think because of the flag and the brick house? I dunno.

wow this is an excellent photograph michelle .. your processing is excellent too ... i'd like to say intelligent things about how this strikes me .. like the suburban house and the flag and the patriotism etc .. but i cant put it into words .. this's make a great poster for a person who just loves their country !!!:)
