Fishing without the fisherman, tools of trade without fishing pole. Silence.
An experiment with a scale-like composition, a game with balance and imbalance.
Editing: BW conversion during RAW processing at low contrast, darkening the middle part of the pier to the rest, raising contrast, resize and usm.

I understand keeping the crop close, but the way the shot it laid out, the chair is too close to the top of the frame. Angeling up the camera a bit would have remedied it, and would have provided room for the 'fisherman' to sit. The Choice of B&W works well because what you are after is the texture of the dock.

I like this shot. it is very well composed. your use of line really takes the viewer around the photograph. i feel that the crop is a bit tight though, i would like to see more space up top so that it feels like someone really should be in that chair, gives it more suspense

Very interesting lines and composition. I like your black and white conversion, too. 7 from me.

Your image draws my eyes into the middle then I just stop at the end of the pier. Too bad there wasn't a line with a fish or two laying on the dock to add some interest.
