Amy's has been in Austin since the mid 80's. It was started by premed student Amy Miller and is now one of those "Austin" places to go. They scoop the ice cream out, slap it down on a slab and pound on it until pliable. Then they add your choice of crushings.
This is actually two pictures. The one of the whole store was processed three times so that the lighting was not blown out on the inside and you could still see the paintings on the outside walls. The large amy's sign was a picture in itself as when taken with the building it too was completely blown out. Although the top of the amy's sign is a bit yucky, this picture was fun to do.

Great job on a very difficult subject.

I love neon lighting. It's very easy to blow out, so you did a good job. "Amy's" sounds like Cold Stone Creamery, a franchise that does the same thing.

Your processing turned out pretty good then. The lighting on everything looks great! I'm just wondering about the blue squiggles front and center? Almost like there is a reflection there?

You forgot to mention how they thrown the ice cream in the air first (that's my favorite part). I love Amy's!

Absolutely wonderful night shot and the colours of the neon have been captured superbly. If I ever make it to Austin I want to go here

Top job

Really cool colors and you did a good job on preventing too much blown highlights. We have a place nearby that pounds the ice cream and it sure is good.

Wonderful night shot. Can't judge about all the original photos, but this looks really nice.
