This shot was taken using a plaster mardi gra mask, beads and black background, basic editing used, contrast, brightness, unsharp mask, I had to use the blur tool to eliminate some random dust and scratches, I also accentuated a few of the beads with a more defined sparkle here and there. The black and white affect was applied in my photo editing program.

This appears to me to be a photo that was not taken in perfect focus. Looks to me like you sharpened it more, or tried to anyway. The image quality is suffering a bit from it. A good idea for this photo though.

I've spent some time looking at your shot. I do like the idea but feel it's a bit too bare. Maybe some balloons, streamers or more beads. Just looks a bit lonely. Good luck in the challenge.

I don't care for the blotchiness in the front and the background, it looks like it was oversaturated before turned to grayscale or something, takes away from what would otherwise be a stunning shot. 5

I like the BW treatment here, I think it work quite effectively here. Seems to be slightly blurry at the bottom, other that, no real comnplaints.

Dramatic - really like the B&W. Tighter shot would have made a bigger impact. Beads add to the Mardi Gras feel, eyes and forehead seem washed out compared to the detailing on the rest of the mask. Nicely done
