I didn't get the chance to shoot anything earlier today so when I got home from work I decided to head across to the pond. To avoid the temptation of another flower shot, I took the IR filter. After a few shots I gave up and came back home.

I went around back and the girls were playing. Miss Taterbug decided she was in the mood to start posing after I got a few candid shots. I had the Sigma 70-300 which doesn't seem to focus so well, especially in low light. This was one of the better ones. I also was shooting at ISO 800 which I didn't know until after I was done. OOPS.

I used the demo of Convert of BW Pro by the Imaging Factory. It seems to do a good job, but probably not worth the price.

She's adorable, I love the messy hair, looks like she was just playing & having fun. Great job editing!

Nice B&W. Great detail in the hair and the skin is so fare.

I am a big fan of post processing for dramatic effects, however I wanted to take the time to point out to you that if you keep the further away eye a little darker (since it's usually a bit shaded by the hair) it will look more natural and less manipulated. I would darken the eye furthest from the viewer.

Just a thought. It's a great pose, and the light is terrific.

Very nice detail on the hair. She looks like porcelain. Very neat effect.

This is a very nice portrait. How nice to have smooth skin without noise removal! :-) Btw, did you burn around her irises? It really makes the eyes pop. If BW Pro etc. did this, I'd say it might be worth the price after all.

Do you like the Sigma 70-300 then? In general, are your zoomed out shots pretty good? I had toyed around with the idea of getting this but then again, i have the olympus which really kind of limits me to what kind of lens to get (to get sharp shots). Of course a lot of photos I take are OOF anyway so maybe it does not matter.

This is a great candid shot. She's so pretty! Her eyes are so big and really catch your attention. I like the black and white conversion as well.

Outstanding portrait. Wonderful lighting. She looks like an elf. This would have done great in the natural light portrait challenge, no?

I think this is a beautiful shot - she has gorgeous eyes and I think the softness of this shot really emphasizes them.

lovely shot, Really like the way all the light hair is picked up. The DoF is a bit deeper than I would have expected with f/4, I'll have to go back and start playing with my Aperture priority I think
