 Day 20, Character Goods

last day of school today, so now it's summer vacation. Mostly Hello Kitty here. The Christmas decoration is in the interview room, but the others belong to 5th or 6th grade students.
Cheating a bit here because the Kitty with the pink Kamakura Daibutsu was taken on Day 18.
It's pretty much guaranteed these days that wherever you go in Japan that's of some touristic interest, there's be Hello Kitty souvenirs associated with the area's famous attraction. (Up the road in Nikko, there is Hello Kitty as the Three Wise Monkeys, I'm sure.)
The Mickey Mouse doesn't quite fit, but it(s a popular souvenir for those who have been to Tokyo Disney Resort.

Nice collection of Hello Kitty goods. I wondered how the Mickey emblem fit in until I read your description. I think contemporary Japanese culture is fascinating.

PS: I didn't see this until after I submitted my own Day 20 composite!

I get a kick out of all the different things that are bastardized into Hello Kitty Ware. Love these shots - keep them coming!
