Seems you have chopped the shot a bit tight.

The texture is not the most inteesting thing about this shot. The shape and form are.

Decent exposure and focus, but a bit to centered for my tastes. I think the composition may have benefited from the rule of thirds being applied.

A great subject that would probably look wonderful towards the start or end of the day - this looks like mid-day, blowing out the sky and leaving hard light

Nice detail in the trunk - would like to see the arms in full. Since you didn't show us the top, I'd suggest eliminating the bright sky area - distracts me from your main subject.

Purple fridging appearing at the top of the photo, where the sky has been overexposed and has no detail. I think if you shot this at about -1/3 or -2/3 EV, you can bring some details back.
