Caught up. This was actually taken on Day 21. Told you I'd get the spirit back.

My little girl became one of those special children who loves to read - as long as it's a Harry Potter book.
Here she is caught in the final volume, fresh from the store shelves, with rapt attention as all her favorite characters die a horrible death (or some such fun).

I've seen a few of the movies.
I don't get it.
I'm old.

There are no steroids in baseball, only players Chuck Norris has breathed on.

Great expression, and her hair color goes well with the book. I only saw the first movie and haven't read any of the books. I guess I'm old too.

I was into the books from the very first day Vol. 1 was released (in Australia, that is), though I wouldn't go so far as to dress up for it. I do have an interest in children's literature. Vol. 5 has too many unnecessary words and should have been edited more severely.
This looks like a much bigger book than the English edition I saw in the store the other day - must be thicker paper....

Walt, I am guessing this is a different daughter to the one on the beach who had the bruise on her arm in the fantastic candid shot you did.

Great expression and a good fun shot

I don't get it either. I think, honestly, that they're just mildly interesting kids' books (nowhere near the quality of, say, C.S. Lewis or Beverly Cleary) that got popular and then got great marketing and then went viral. I think in fifty years, a few people will still be reading the books, but mostly they'll be remembered for all the hype.

Nice photograph, though -- what a humorous expression. Your daughter seems like she must be a lot of fun. :)

I'm sure many many kids spent thier weekends looking this exact way. I love the wide eyed excitement!

The facial expressions that your daughter gives you for your pictures are priceless. Must have been a really good part in the book lol.

This is wonderful for us Harry Potter fans. I've ordered my copy "snail mail" and should have it by the end of this week. No spoilers, please!

What I really love about this photo (besides the excellent exposure) is your daughter's expression. Combined with her red hair, she could be one of the Weasleys! ;-)
